An ark to weather all storms. Limited edition screenprint.
A storm in a teacup? A ship in a bottle? Yes! A little storm in a little wobbly bottle and an ark to weather it in. Sometimes we get caught up in the ups and downs of life and we forget that our troubles are not so very big, and that they will not last (nothing does). Until you reach dry land, here is a little ark I have designer for you to keep you safe and stop you drowning. The banner reads 'this too will pass'. It's the truth, and is a reminder.
Inspiration: I found this delightful thatched cottage and it was so wonderful a friend and I thought we should live there, and fill the house with dolls, and be happy ever after. But then we weren't sure if we would like living all the time so far in the country, so perhaps a thatched caravan would be better, so we could go to the city when necessary. Then it began to rain, and rain and rain and it seemed more prudent to have some kind of watertight vessel. Like an ark. A thatched ark. To weather all storms in.
Process: I drew it all by hand. No computers for this little print.
This is a perfect little pick me up gift for a friend going through a hard time. Nothing says 'i've noticed, a care, and it's going to be OK' like a small print of a boat in a stormy bottle
Frame it for a wall; post it to a friend; pop it in a scrapbook. Don't forget to see my other watery prints, like seven fish. If you want to frame it in a standard uk photoframe, you can choose the mounted option and it will come with a 8x10 matt to make it super easy.
Size: Printed by me on acid free, smooth, A5 heavy weight cartridge paper. A5 is 148 x 210 mm (5.8 x 8.3 inches). Fits standard sized frames (either with an A5 aperture or an 8x6 one frames are not provided)
NOW IN A3 SIZE TOO! Just select A3 from the drop down menu to get the bigger size.
Materials: I use water based (eco friendly) acrylic inks translucent watery aquamarine, corking brown and deep sea blue to make this simple, whimsical, nautical artprint. All materials are archival to last as an heirloom into the future.
Important stuff: My screenprints are hand printed and hand registered by eye and unlike computer generated images are subject to slight variations that make each a unique piece of art.
