Little Hare, Big Sky. Original Silkscreen Print

£14.00

The heat of the day fizzles and fades; the sky cools to a deep indigo and the stars wink on one by one. It's hares favourite time of the day- not because it's safe, but because the twilight brings the slumbering dreams that unfold like a kind of magic over the landscape. Hare gazes at the moonlit sky. The vast starlit expanse makes him feel very small but he doesn't mind. He finds it inspiring. He likes to feel that he's part of something bigger the mundane world.

Open edition.

Inspiration: Hares can be found gazing at the moon in nature. Who know what they are upto? It's a universal and ancient symbol, found all over the world. Seeing a moon gazing hare is supposed to bring you growth, re-birth, abundance, new beginnings and good fortune. In his form as the easter bunny, hare is a symbol of fertility.

Process: I originally painted this image directly on the screen, using rubbings of textures and screen fillers for the rest. Then I printed the image on to acetate and used that to burn a silkscreen using photosensitive screenfiller because when you use regular filler the silkscreen drgrades quite quickly.

Make it a gift for a friend needing abundance (and frankly, who doesn't?), a magical mystic friend who loves nature- especially if that friend is you. Frame it for a wall; post it to a friend; pop it in a scrapbook. Don't forget to see my matching cards and moleskine notebooks

Size: Printed by me on acid free, smooth, A5 heavy weight cartridge paper. A5 is 148 x 210 mm (5.8 x 8.3 inches). Fits standard sized frames (either with an A5 aperture or an 8x6 one frames are not provided)

Materials: I use water based (eco friendly) acrylic inks in dark prussian blue to make a unique decorative artprint. All materials are archival to last as an heirloom into the future.

Important stuff: My screenprints are hand printed and hand registered by eye and unlike computer generated images are subject to slight variations that make each a unique piece of art.
